Leather skinny jeans are officially my fall obsession. They have been all over the streets, and are a definite need for your fall wardrobe. You can dress them up or down which makes them an easy piece to have around in your closet. They are a good fall basic because they go with EVERYTHING. No kidding. Dress it up with blazers, knits, or chiffon. If going for the edgy/casual look, just throw on a tee. Metallic accessories, which are also a hot fall item, look amazing when paired with leather.
Leather love
Red Skinnies
Now that it is getting closer to fall, I am seeing more and more red skinny jeans. You might think that they would be hard to pair with other things in your closet, but I promise it’s very simple. Stay with your basic neutrals like black, white, beige, chambray, etc. Also, pay attention the the color. Some reds can be very obnoxious if they are too orangy, so look for darker reds. Don’t pair these with flashy tops or accessories because it could potentially look childish. I like this Rag & Bone pair of skinny jeans because the red is very rich.
Sheer Beauty
The Sheer Blouse has been very popular in the past few seasons. It’s something easy to mix-and-match, and it can be very chic. The fabrics are so soft and delicate which makes this trend that much better. The cool thing about the sheer blouse is that you can wear it year round with shorts, skirts, or pants. To stand out from the all the other sheer chiffon styles, try to mix it up. Look for a blouse that has either pretty embellishments, is in a bold color, or lightly printed. My favorites are 3.1 Phillip Lim nude blouse and byCORPUS sheer shouldered top.
The Fiftys One Peice
The 50′s swim suit is becoming a more and more popular trend. During the 50′s the one-piece swimsuit was what the majority of women would wear. They usually had corsets sewn in them, and they were typically worn with a swim cap. Today, the more modern versions are just a simple one-piece with an under wire. Be sure not to go to literal with this and buy a floral swim cap to match.. You should have fun with all the new styles, and this charcoal seersucker swimsuit above from J. Crew is the perfect example. Buy one of these babies and start heading to the beach!
Tropical Paradise
When you first think of Hawaiian floral, you think tacky tourist.. BUT if you wear this pattern the right way you could look very trendy. To pull off the tropical Hawaiian look, you need to remember NOT to buy the typical button down with hibiscus’ on the front, but go for something with a stylish twist. You should look for the print in a shear button down, an edgy dress, on a swim suit, etc. If the Hawaiian vibe isn’t your thing or if you’re looking for less, then check out this tropical scarf from Urban Outfitters.
The Flat Espadrille
Espadrilles are a classic that have been around for years. I love that they are cute, comfortable, and very stylish for summer. You mainly used to see espadrille wedges, but flat espadrilles are very trendy right now. You can wear them with any casual summer outfit, and you should try to get them in a bright color or pattern. Be playful when picking out your espadrilles, because its summer and you should be having fun with your fashion. These Marina Leopard Print Sandals are to die for and they are on sale!
Prada ‘Baroque’ Sunnies
These Prada Sunglasses have been out for a little while now, but they are still as hot as when they were first introduced. They come in several different colors from black to brown to light blue. You have to be confident enough to pull these bold sunnies off, but if you wear them right you will leave every other woman in the room jealous of your style. If you decide to buy these sunglasses, I would either go with a black or a brown; since they are not a classic style, go with a classic color.
Sporty Summer Time
I used to think that watches
were unnecessary, until I got my first one, and now I barely leave the house without a watch on my wrist. Not only are watches cute, but they are practical too. Sporty watches are my number one pick for summer. They usually come in a splash of different colors. You can wear these anywhere casual. When it comes to sporty watches, you should be picky. They come in an assortment of colors, shapes, materials, and styles. They are either one solid color, or many different colors mixed in one. If you like something subtle, check out this Marc Jacobs watch in white. If you’re looking to make more of a statement, check out the Adidas ‘Santiago’ watch.
The Bold Bag
The bold bag is perfect for the summer time. It will help you spice up any outfit, and it’s a playful way to get creative with your wardrobe. You can wear a bold colored bag any way you like. If you want to look girlie, i would pair a bright pink cross body with a sweet dress. If you want to be a little more edgy, you could pair a neon yellow bag with an all black outfit so that the bag really pops. Even for a night out, you could pair your LBD with a bold colored clutch to make a statement. My personal favorites are The Kate Spade Scout cross-body and the Marc by Marc Jacobs classic Q Percy cross-body.
Oh My Chambray
The chambray button down is one of my favorites at the moment because of how versatile it is. The classic chambray shirt is just a thin jean button down which comes in all different shades of blue. The cool thing about this button down is that it can be worn with just about anything. To dress it up, you can wear it with a sequin skirt or over a dress. If you want a more laid back look, then i suggest you wear it with a pair of shorts or skinny jeans in any color other than blue. The chambray shirt also comes in special designs like dip-dye or even patriotic stars and stripes. You can buy these just about anywhere in a different range of prices. If you’re looking to go with a classic, then J. Crew is the place for you. If you’re looking for a special style, Urban Outfitters just got in a new Dip-Dye jean shirt that is very unique. Just find which style you like and start mixing it up.
